Gardenhire named GSC Freshman of the Week

CARROLLTON, Ga. - Several firsts happened for UWG freshman defensive end Deandre Gardenhire against Fort Valley State last Thursday. He picked up his first collegiate tackle, led the team in tackles in his first game, and on Monday, he was named Gulf South Conference Freshman of the Week by league officials.

On Saturday morning, the first of those two draftees took another step forward, as Alex Armah earned a spot on the Carolina Panthers' 53-man roster. Saturday afternoon brought another, as Dylan Donahue was named to the 53-man roster for the New York Jets.
