CARROLLTON, Ga. - Fans of the University of West Georgia will have multiple opportunities coming in the remainder of the month of August to interact with Wolves' Athletics, including the return of Run With the Wolves Fan Day on August 26.
Until August 23, fans will have the opportunity to purchase season tickets and to choose your seat for the coming football season. Any season ticket purchased will automatically enter the season ticket holder into the "Sellout Sweepstakes" drawing, where fans can win a Friday Night Dinner on Ra-Lin Field, two sideline passes, or lead the Wolf Walk on October 7 prior to the Wolves against Valdosta State. That will take place
On August 23, single game tickets will go on sale for the Fort Valley State game. Either season tickets or single game tickets may be purchased through the UWG Athletics Ticket Portal. That will also be another fan interaction day with UWG Athletics and the public with the first Coaches Luncheon at American Pie of the 2017-18 athletic year. Fans, coaches and athletic administration will join together at American Pie Pizzeria for a "dutch treat" lunch, and each head coach that is currently in-season will give an update on their team heading into the season openers.
On Thursday, August 24, "The Howl" will return to University Stadium, as UWG Athletics kicks off the new year with a pep rally on Ra-Lin Field. First Year students will take a First Lap around the field at 8:00 p.m., which will then lead into an under the lights Yell Practice to prep for the new football season. Head coach David Dean, the cheerleaders and the Sound that Lights The South will whip the students into a frenzy in teaching how to be a Wolf at games throughout the year.
Two days after that will be the return of Run with the Wolves Fan Day at University Stadium. The day will start off early on the field, as Dean and his team will give a mini-clinic on Ra-Lin Field during the first hour, then all of the teams will be on the concourse level for photos and autographs from 10 a.m. until 11:30 am.
Make sure to follow @UWGAthletics on Twitter or "West Georgia Wolves" on Facebook, as each of these events will have details released on those social media outlets in the days leading up to each event.
