DAHLONEGA, Ga. – A tough first round of 298 didn’t keep the Wolves down long as they rebounded in the second round with a 289 to sit in seventh place after 36 holes at the UNG Fall Invitational at Achasta Golf Club.

 

Samuel Jones used rounds of 73 and 71 to end the first day of the tournament in a 13th place tie to be the first UWG player down the leaderboard.

 

Making his UWG debut, James Robillard shot rounds of 74 and 73, good for a 147 total after two rounds, putting the freshman in a 25th place tie.

 

Daniel Benson shot 74 in the opening round, but finished with a 77 in the second round. Benson will begin the second day in a 36th place tie. Carson Vaughn shot 77 in round one and came back with a 75 in the second round and is in 42nd place.

 

Valentin Riviere is also in 42nd place after an 82 in the opening round, and then a 70 in the second round, posting the low round for UWG on the day.

 

Lander leads the tournament after rounds of 292 and 280 on Monday. The Bearcats have a four stroke lead on host team North Georgia.

 

The Wolves wrap up the UNG Fall Invitational tomorrow with the final round at Achasta Golf Club.
