CARROLLTON, Ga. - An impressive run of back-to-back wins over the past two Saturdays has propelled the West Georgia football program back into the national Division II football rankings.

West Georgia was ranked 25th in Monday’s weekly American Football Coaches Association Division II rankings. It was the Wolves’ first national ranking since their September 16 defeat at the hands of Delta State.

Tuesday, UWG returned to the poll for the first time in three weeks. The Wolves were two notches higher than in the coaches’ poll, placing 23rd in this week’s rankings.

UWG’s two-game win streak leaves them with a 4-1 record as they head into Saturday’s showdown with rival Valdosta State. The Wolves and Blazers are set for the 37th renewal of their all-time series, and to claim the possession of the Peach Basket for the next year.

Kickoff time for the UWG-Valdosta State game is set for 2:05 on Ra-Lin Field.
