CARROLLTON, Ga. - The 2017 volleyball season continues this weekend for the West Georgia Wolves, as we reach the halfway point of the year on the road at Mississippi College and West Alabama. The Wolves play the Choctaws on Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Clinton, Miss., then take on the West Alabama Tigers at 1 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in Livingston, Ala.

Wolves at a Glance
The Wolves enter the weekend with a 1-13 record on the season and are searching for their first Gulf South Conference victory after six straight conference losses to open the season. West Georgia lost most recent match to the West Florida Argonauts on Tuesday, falling 3-0 in Pensacola. Freshman Anjelina Webb continues to lead the Wolves' offensive and has 145 kills on the year coming into the weekend, and she aloso is the team leader in digs with 127. Niah Bruce leads the team at the net, as she has 31 total blocks on the year, but Madeline Rexrode has the most solo blocks with eight. 

Mississippi College at a Glance
The Choctaws come into Friday evening's match with a 7-9 overall record and a 1-4 mark against Gulf South Conference competition. Mississippi College has four straight losses, falling 3-0 to Shorter, Lee and West Alabama and 3-1 to Union over the past two weeks. MC had it's first GSC victory of the year at home against Auburn-Montgomery on September 19, a 3-0 result. Shelby Grace Mays is the leading hitter for the Choctaws on the year, averaging 3.81 kills per set this season. Kayana Mitchell is another big target, averaging 3.15 kills per set on the year.
