CARROLLTON, Ga. - The West Georgia volleyball program will take part in the 2017 South Region Crossover this weekend in Hoover, Ala. at the Finley Center, playing three games over the course of Friday and Saturday.
The Wolves enter the weekend with a 2-15 record on the year, and will take on Embry-Riddle on Friday in the 3:30 p.m. time slot on Court 3 at the Finley Center. That will be the only contest for UWG on Friday, and Saturday will begin early with an 11:00 a.m. start against Florida Tech. The weekend will conclude in the 5:45 slot on Saturday, as the Wolves take on Florida Southern. All game times listed are EST.
West Georgia is led on the year by freshman Anjelina Webb at the net, who comes into the weekend averaging just under three kills per set. Sophomore Madi Fleming and junior Victoria Rushin lead the offense from the setter spot, with Fleming averaging 5.42 assists per set and Rushin at 4.35 assists per set. Webb and freshman Jaylen Daffin are the leaders in the digs department, with Webb averaging 2.80 digs per set and Daffin 3.06.
Embry-Riddle comes into the weekend with a 4-7 record overall on the year, including a 2-6 record in Sunshine State Conference play. Florida Tech is also 4-7 overall this season and 2-6 in conference play. Flagler is 11-3 on the year with a 4-1 record in Peach Belt Conference play.
