FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - It was a fourth straight defeat for the West Georgia Wolves baseball squad on Tuesday as they fell to Emmanuel 8-6 on the road in non-conference midweek action.

The loss drops the Wolves to 5-6 overall as UWG played its fourth game in three days. The Wolves slugged out 16 hits on the day, but couldn't overcome a pair of errors and an early 7-1 deficit.

CJ Fehribach made his first collegiate start on Tuesday, but faced just 11 batters, giving three hits and six runs with four being earned, before giving way to Andy Marshall who would throw four innings giving up just three hits and an earned run.

West Georgia got an early 1-0 lead after their first at bat as Drew Eady singled to leadoff the game, stole second and the advanced to third on Ben Utley's single before scoring on an RBI single to left field by senior Artemis Kadkhodaian.

The Lions would respond with three runs on just one hit, an error, three walks and a pair of passed balls. In the next inning, Emmanuel added four more on four hits and an error building a 7-1 lead.

The Wolves and Lions would both be relatively quiet until the eighth inning when the Wolves slugged out five runs on five hits. Ryan Raper led off the inning by reaching on an error and then scored as Cade Marlowe homered to left field, cutting the lead to 7-3. Logan Arnett and Xavier Cruz then smacked back-to-back singles before a fielder's choice and a single by Drew Eady would score Arnett. The Wolves got the deficit to one as Kadkhodaian drove in a pair with a single.

The Lions added one run in the eighth, as insurance, and then brought in Alex Snider who would close it out to earn the save.

Joseph Watson and Mitchell Mannino would also pitch in relief for the Wolves as Mannino threw one inning, gave up a hit and struck out two.

Offensively, Drew Eady, Ben Utley, and Cade Marlowe each had three hits, with Marlowe picking up a pair of RBI on his second homer of the year. Artemis Kadkhodaian finished 2-for-5 at the platte with three RBI.

West Georgia will return to Gulf South Conference action this weekend as they travel to Huntsville for a three game series against the UAH Chargers. Saturday's doubleheader against the Chargers is set for 2PM EST.
