Carrollton, GA - It was a battle of Gulf South Conference foes on Saturday as the West Georgia Wolves dropped game one of a three game series to the West Florida Argonauts 7-6 in eleven innings at Cole Field.

West Florida struck first as they scored three runs in the top of the first and a single run in the top of the third to take a 4-0 lead early in the contest. West Georgia cut that lead in half in the bottom of the third as Ben Utley hit a two RBI single to make it a 4-2 game.

The Argonauts came right back in the top of the fourth and scored two more runs to increase the lead to 6-2. UWG then began to chip away at the deficit with two runs in the fifth with an RBI single by Christopher Michals and a fielder's choice RBI from Price Peters.

The score would stay 6-4 until the bottom of the eighth when Spencer Cross hit a two run homerun to tie the game at 6-6. Neither team would score in the ninth or tenth, but UWF hit a solo homerun in the top of the eleventh to seal the victory for the Argonauts.

Spencer Cross led the Wolves offensively, going 3-4 with two RBI and a run scored. N.J. Williamson also had three hits and scored two runs.

Dalton Reagin was phenomenal out of the bullpen for UWG. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up only one run while scattering six hits. He also had two strikeouts and no walks.
