Clinton, MS - It was a tough weekend for the UWG baseball team as they dropped the final two games of a three game Gulf South Conference series to the Mississippi College Choctaws in Clinton, MS.

Game Two
It was the start that UWG had hoped for, as the Wolves got off to a 2-0 start over the Choctaws in the top of the first inning. N.J. Williamson walked to begin the game, then stole second and advanced to third on the first out of the game. Ben Utley then drove in Williamson on a ground out to second. Ryan Raper added the second run on his second homerun of the season.

It wasn't long after that when West Georgia added to the lead. Price Peters singled in the top of the third and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Ben Utley then hit his fourth homerun of the year to give UWG a 4-0 lead. Later in the inning Bradley Felkel drove in Drew Eady to give UWG a 5-0 lead in the third inning.

Mississippi College picked up two runs in the bottom of the third inning to cut the lead to 5-2. The Choctaws then added five more runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 7-5 lead over the Wolves.

The scoring didn't end there as UWG responded with four runs of their own in the top of the fifth. Bradley Felkel doubled to drive in second and third RBI of the game. Artemis Kadkhodaian then hit a two-run homerun to make it a 9-7 game with West Georgia on top.

It was then the Choctaws turn to score as Mississippi College picked up five more runs in the fifth to grab a 12-9 lead over West Georgia. The Choctaws then added a single run in bottom of the sixth to take a 13-9 lead.

West Georgia continued to battle as Ryan Raper drove in two more runs in the top of the eighth to cut the deficit to 13-11, but the Choctaws once again responded with two runs in the bottom of the eighth. That made the final score from game one 15-11 with Mississippi College on top.

Game Three
The Wolves once again took an early lead as Price Peters hit a solo homerun in the top of the first to give UWG a 1-0 lead. Once again the Choctaws responded in the home half of the inning with two runs to take a 2-1 lead.

Mississippi College then scored seven runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 9-1 lead. They then added a single run in bottom of the fourth to take a 10-1 lead into the fifth. That would be the end of the scoring as MC took the game 10-1.

UWG will now host the Young Harris Mountain Lions on Wednesday at Cole Field. First pitch is set for 5:00 p.m. EST.
