ROME, Ga. - A rollercoaster of a game didn't come to the ending the UWG Wolves baseball squad had hoped for as UWG fell 8-7 to Shorter in the series finale in Rome on Sunday afternoon.

Shorter got off to an early lead, scoring a pair of runs in the first and one run in the third. Bradley Felkel put the Wolves on the board with a single in the third to score Artemis Kadkhodaian.

In the fourth, Shorter added two more runs to stretch their lead to four, but in the next half inning, the Wolves responded with a pair of their own as Cade Marlowe and Drew Eady each drove in a single run, cutting the lead to 5-3.

West Georgia used a four spot in the seventh inning to take their first lead of the game. Bradley Felkel led off with a single, and after a Cade Marlowe walk, Ryan Raper singled to load the bases. Spencer Cross then drove in a run and reached on an error. NJ Williamson then drove in two runs that put UWG up by a run. Chris Michals then scored on a wild pitch to put the Wolves up 7-5.

The homestanding Hawks scored three runs in the eighth to take the lead, and then slammed the door on the Wolves in the ninth.

Bradley Felkel and Nassor Williamson had solid days at the plate each recording multi-hit games. Felkel was 3-for-5 with an RBI while Williamson was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI.

Dalton Reagin got the start for the Wolves and gave up five runs in seven innings.

The Wolves are on the road in midweek action this week, taking on Georgia Southwestern at 5 p.m. on Wednesday evening in Americus.
