Valdosta, GA - It was an offensive breakout for the West Georgia Wolves on Saturday afternoon as they defeated the Valdosta State Blazers in game three of a Gulf South Conference Series in Valdosta, GA. The Wolves scored nine runs after scoring just one run total in a Friday doubleheader.

How it Happened
It was a good start for the Wolves as they picked up three early runs in the top of the second inning. Bradley Felkel and N.J. Williamson got things started with a single each. Dalton Gilliam then doubled, driving in Felkel and Williamson. With two outs, Kadkhodaian singled to right field, plating Gilliam for the Wolves third run.

West Georgia added to their lead in the top of the third inning. Ben Utley singled and advanced to second on a passed ball. Brett Anderson then hit a single, scoring Utley and giving UWG the 4-0 lead.

Valdosta State scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly. The Wolves would not score again until the top of the sixth, as N.J. Williamson drove home Bradley Felkel to give West Georgia a 5-1 lead. Dalton Gilliam then doubled, pushing the UWG lead to 6-1. A single from Drew Eady scored Gilliam, giving the Wolves a 7-1 lead.

The Blazers added a single run in the bottom of the sixth to cut the UWG lead to 7-2. West Georgia responded in the top of the seventh with a two RBI double from Dalton Gilliam to take a 9-2 lead. The blazers added a single run in the bottom of the ninth.

That would end the scoring for both teams as UWG would take the win 9-3. Tyler Garner picked up the win for West Georgia, throwing 5.2 innings while giving up only one earned runs and striking out four.

Freshman Dalton Gilliam led the way offensively with three doubles and five RBI on the day. N.J. Williamson added three hits and three runs scored. Bradley Felkel had two hits and two runs scored.
