Head coach Dave Moore on Keshawn Heard
"Keshawn Heard is a 6-8, 225-lb forward who can play inside and out," said Moore. "He comes from a great high school program and had one of the best high school coaches in Ohio, Jeff Quackenbush. We are excited about Keshawn's ability to help us right away as a freshman."
Heard is currently a senior at Newark High School in Newark, Ohio, where he helped lead his squad to 46 wins and just five losses over the past two seasons. In 2017-18, Newark reached the third round of the Ohio High School state playoffs, when Heard was named Honorable Mention All-Central District as a junior. As a sophomore, he helped his squad reach the fourth round of the Ohio High School state playoffs in the 2016-17 campaign. This past summer, Heard played for Team Ohio in the U-18 JIT Junior International Championships, winning the tournament in Lissone, Italy.
