CARROLLTON, Ga. – The West Georgia Wolves are now but four days away from their 2019 season opener vs. Catawba. Monday, the Wolves learned that they will carry an additional national ranking into Saturday’s game.

West Georgia was 14th in the nation in NCAA Division II in the season’s first media poo. This rating comes on the heels of the Wolves’ earlier ranking of 15th in the nation in the season’s first American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Coaches’ Poll.

Beyond the preseason national ranking, three UWG standouts were also chosen for spots on the Preseason All-America Team. Senior defensive end Chad Price, senior linebacker Korie Rogers, and sophomore return specialist LaPerion Perry were all selected as second-team members of the squad.

West Georgia begins its 2019 season Saturday afternoon in Salisbury, N.C. vs. Catawba. Kickoff time is set for 12 noon from Shuford Stadium on the Catawba campus.
