CARROLLTON, Ga. – Spring football practice for the 2018 UWG Wolves has entered its final week. Coach David Dean and his squad are building toward this Thursday evening’s spring game on Ra-Lin Field in University Stadium.

“I really like the attitude of our kids. They’ve gone out and practiced hard every day,” said Dean. He added, “The one thing they had to push through is a lot of adversity because of all the rain. Our field has not been in the best condition, but that has not deterred our guys from going out and working hard, which I am proud to see.”

Thursday’s game will be played in an offense vs. defense format, and is set to have four, 10,minute quarters. Offensive scores will be the traditional six points for a touchdown, one for a PAT, and three for a field goal. The defense will be awarded three points for a three-and-out, one for a stop, and five points for a takeaway.

As has become a West Georgia tradition, this year’s spring practice featured an early beginning and will have an early close. Dean says, “We have spring break so early, and I’m not a guy who likes to go halfway through, and then finish (practice) when they come back from spring break. I think you lose some continuity that way.”

Thursday’s game begins at 7 p.m., admission is free, and all Wolves fans are encouraged to attend. The UWG Lettermen's Club will be hosting an event on the porch of the Athletic Operations Building prior to the event, for more details contact Scott Hambleton at shamble1@my.westga.edu
