CARROLLTON, Ga. - A pair of UWG women’s golfers were honored by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association for their outstanding work in the classroom as Layne Carter and Franziska Bremm were named All-American Scholars.


It’s the second straight year that both Carter and Bremm have earned the honor, with Bremm now becoming a three-time All-American scholar selection.


This season, Bremm averaged 75.65 to lead the team in scoring and won a tournament on her way to a third All-Conference selection.


Carter averaged 79.59 with her best finish being a 13th place tie at the UWG Women’s Invitational.


A total of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor.  The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
