MOBILE, Ala. – The UWG women’s golf team made an 18-stroke improvement in round two, firing a 309 on Monday at the Falls Course at the RTJ Golf Trail at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Alabama.


Senior Franziska Bremm was back in form on Tuesday, shooting a one-over 72. It didn’t start out well as a pair of bogeys and a double put Bremm at four over on the round at the turn, but Bremm responded with a three-under, bogey-free back nine to finish with the 72. Bremm is in second place individually and trails Haverly Harrold of Lee by one stroke.


Layne Marie Carter came back with a solid second round of 76 on Tuesday. The junior made one birdie on the day, coming at the par-three 13th. Carter is just outside of the top-15 in a 16th place tie.


A second round 80 for freshman Jasmine Yi puts her in a 24th place tie, but Stephania Vargas, one of three freshmen in the lineup, is in front of her on the leaderboard in 18th after a second round 81.


The final freshman in the lineup is Ari Samuel who shot a second round 88 on Tuesday and begins the final round in a 29th place tie.


Lee continues to lead the tournament after a 302 on Tuesday. The Flames have a five shot lead o begins tomorrow morning in Mobile.
