CARROLLTON, Ga. - With three games this past weekend, UWG freshman middle Tierra White was a solid performer for the Wolves, earning All-Tournament honors at the conclusion of the GSC/SSC Crossover. On Tuesday, White was named Co-Offensive Player of the Week and Freshman of the Week by the Gulf South Conference.  

White has been a big part of the West Georgia success this season and has been named GSC Freshman of the Week three times on the year. This past weekend, she had 39 kills in 11 sets played, averaging 3.55 kills per set with a .315 hitting percentage. The Offensive Player of the Week award is her first at West Georgia, giving the Columbus native five total weekly awards through the first eight weeks of the year. 

In the opener against defending national champion Tampa, White had 13 kills with just two hitting errors for a hitting percentage of .440 in the match. Her best match came in the five-set win over Eckerd, as the Columbus native had 19 kills and five blocks to lead the Wolves to a 3-2 victory. In the final match against Lynn, she had seven kills with just one hitting error in the match. 

West Georgia will be back in Gulf South Conference play this weekend, playing at Union in a huge match for position in the top half of the Gulf South Conference standings. First serve for that match is set for 8 p.m. on Friday, followed by a 3 p.m. match in Memphis, Tenn. on Saturday against Christian Brothers.
