CARROLLTON, Ga. – Ashley Lee garnered a weekly award from the league this week as she was announced as the Gulf South Conference Player of the Week on Tuesday following a big week for the Memphis native.

In two games last week, the senior averaged 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds, recording two double-doubles in a pair of West Georgia wins.

Against Fort Valley State last Tuesday, Lee dropped 20 points, setting a new career-high and pulled down 11 rebounds. Then on Saturday, Lee was a huge part of UWG’s four-point win over Alabama Huntsville when she scored 17 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. Lee hit three three-pointers against the Chargers.

It’s the first weekly award of Lee’s career, and the first for UWG since Aysha Harris was named GSC Player of the Week late last season.

This season, Lee is leading the team in scoring, averaging 13.7 points per game and also leads in rebounds and assists. Lee pulls down 7.5 boards per game and has dished out 13 assists thus far this season.

Lee and the Wolves have a week until their next game, taking the Thanksgiving holiday off before returning to action on Tuesday, December 3 at home against Carver.
