CARROLLTON, Ga. - West Georgia baseball has five home games remaining in the 2019 season, with all five coming this week, but the week begins Tuesday with the annual Financial Literacy Game with first pitch from Cole Field coming at 4 p.m.

The event has become a fantastic partnership between athletics and the Economics Department in the Richards College of Business, spreading the message of Financial Literacy with a new topic to discuss each year. This year's theme is, "When life throws you a curveball, grab a bat and hit it!"

Students are encouraged to join us for the game, get a free t-shirt and some great prizes throughout the game. There will be lucky drawings and students will get the chance to give their own thoughts and tips for prizes as well.

The game between the West Georgia Wolves and the Miles Golden Bears is set to begin at 4 p.m.

West Georgia is coming off of a 3-2 week last week, led by senior first baseman Logan Taylor, who hit .571 for the week with 14 RBI. The senior belted a pair of home runs against Auburn-Montgomery over the weekend and had nine RBI in the three-game Gulf South Conference series.

Another player who had a good week last week was second baseman Brian Dansereau, who raised his batting average above .300 for the first time since the opening game of the season.
