UWG Baseball Standout earns National Honor

Carrollton, GA  - Outfielder Drew Eady carried a reputation as a top defensive player throughout his career with the UWG Wolves.Wednesday, that reputation was confirmed as Eady captured the title of Gold Glove winner

Eady, a senior from LaGrange, was named to 2017 ABCA/Rawlings Division II Gold Glove Team. The American Baseball Coaches Association and Rawlings Sporting Goods presents the award at each level of collegiate competition, and is chosen by committee of Division II coaches from around the country.

Eady was a three-year starter in centerfield for UWG, and was an outstanding performer each season. However, his senior season in 2017 produced his best numbers: 121 putouts, 10 assists, and no errors, resulting in a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage. The errorless was the second for Eady in his three years at UWG.

Wednesday's honor for Eady marks the second straight season that a UWG outfielder had earned a berth on the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove Team. Outfielder Tyler Hutch was voted to the squad following the 2016 baseball season.
