CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – West Georgia competed at the Stan Sims Invitational hosted by Kennesaw State on Friday evening. The Wolves put up a strong finish, with the top five runners finishing within 18 places of each other.

Mackenzie Morse led the Wolves in their first 5k of the year with a time of 21:18.7 placing 43rd overall. Alaina Burnside was the next Wolves runner to cross the finish line placing 51st overall with a time of 22:11.1.

The next three runners finished just 24 seconds apart, as Shelby Parsekian placed third for the Wolves and 56th overall. Alexis Smith finished 58th overall with a time of 22:27.7 and Bailey Roberts finished with a time of 22:43.0 placing 60th overall.

Amie Wimberly and Kimberly Dezwart finished out the race for the Wolves placing 72nd and 76th overall. Wimberly ran a 23:26.5 while Dezwart ran a 24:28.5.

The Wolves will race again next Saturday in Dahlonega, Ga. as North Georgia host the 5th Annual UNG Invitational.
