KILLEN, Ala. – The West Georgia Wolves men’s golf team sits in seventh place after 36 holes of play at the TVA Credit Union Invitational at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club in Killen, Ala.

 

The Wolves opened with a 305, but rebounded nicely with a 296 in the second round to sit in the middle of the pack in the 14 team field currently led by host North Alabama after one day of play.

 

Junior Samuel Jones led the way for the Wolves, posting the lowest day one total for the Wolves. Jones struggled in the first round, shooting a 77, but fired back with a one-under 71 in the second round. Jones enters Tuesday’s final round in a 14th place tie.

 

Valentin Riviere used rounds of 74 and 75 to finish the day five-over and sit in a 17th place tie after 36 holes.

 

Both Dan Benson and Ethan Jones ended the day at eight-over par. Benson shot 74 and 78 while Jones shot back-to-back rounds of 76. The pair of Wolves are currently in a 32nd place tie on the individual leaderboard.

 

The final UWG golfer on the leaderboard is James Robillard who shot 78 and 76 on the day to finish day one in a 41st place tie.

 

North Alabama leads by seven shots over Columbus State and Limestone College.

 

The Wolves will wrap up play at the TVA Credit Union Invitational with the final round on Tuesday at Turtle Point.
