CARROLLTON, Ga. – Just two games remain on the regular season schedule for the UWG soccer team as the Wolves are set to make their final road trip of the season this weekend, taking on Spring Hill on Friday, October 20 at 4:30 p.m. in Mobile, Ala.

The Wolves enter the game with a 7-7 overall record with a 6-6 mark in Gulf South Conference play, and currently sit in eighth place in the GSC Standings with 18 points in league play. West Georgia is coming off of a crucial 3-1 victory over rival Valdosta State last Sunday, and will look to build on that momentum going into the final two games of the year.

Three different Wolves found the back of the net on Sunday, and will look for more of the same against a Spring Hill team that has surrendered 58 goals this season while scoring just eight.

Rachael Lane, Julia Atenza, and Kelly Geary each scored on Sunday, with Atenza’s goal giving her four on the year, tying her for the team lead with freshman Nikki Conte.

Junior midfielder Katie Mitchell picked up two assists over the weekend, and now has three on the season and 16 for her career. Mitchell, the Newnan native, needs six more to set a new West Georgia record for career assists. Samantha Jones, who played from 2005-2008, currently holds the record at 21.

The Badgers of Spring Hill have won just one game this season, defeating Georgia Southwestern 2-1 back in September. SHC is 1-14 on the year and 0-11 in GSC play.

Kickoff for Friday’s game in Mobile, Ala. is set for 4:30 p.m. EST. Live stats are available at the above link.
