OXFORD, Al. – The Wolves track and field team is set to head to Choccolocco Park where Jacksonville State will host the GameCock Quad Invite this Saturday in Oxford, Alabama.

This is an invite only meet where just eight teams are competing in all events. Teams range from DI to NAIA that will be competing and scored. Head Coach, Ryan Bailey, gives us insight on his take of the season so far, "The meet at JSU will be our third meet in as many weeks. Consequently, I plan to run the athletes in fewer events and focus on sharpening up their event-specific skills. They will have a little time to recover after this and we will be going after it as hard as ever when we resume competition at Emory."

Kennedy Davis has made an impact on the season so far in the hurdles and looks to turn heads competing against other divisions in the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles. Joining her in both races is Andrea Foster and Nadia Davila will compete in the 100m hurdles.

Dawn McCaskill was West Georgia’s top performer at the meet last week and will race again in the 200m dash. Along with McCaskill will be Makalah Cannon, Alexis Dukes and Nikkita Gordon.

Cannon was a top finisher for the Wolves in the 100m dash last week and will be joined by Elizabeth Folsom, Bre Kittles, and Gordon this week. Emani Collins will be competing in the 400m this weekend.

A pack of Wolves will be running in the 800m and 1500m. In the 800m D’erika Montford, Amie Wimberly, Mackenzie Morse and Alexis Smith will be racing. The 1500m will be a similar crowd of Montford, Smith, Morse and Bailey Roberts. Morse will also be running in the 5000m with Shelby Parsekian. Smith will also be racing in the Steeple Chase to wrap up the distance events.

With excellent performances last week, Andrea Foster and Paige Peterson will be competing in the triple jump. Trisan Haughton will make another appearance in high jump alongside Alexis Alofuokhai. Haughton will also compete in the long jump with China Amey, Rolayo Roberts, and Nadia Davila.

The throws squad looks to have another meet of personal bests all around. Nya Moses, Hannah West and Caitlin Teknipp look to better their throws in the hammer throw. While Moses and Teknipp also take on discus.

Hep athletes will join the throws squad in shot put this weekend, including Paige Berriochoa and Andrea Foster with Nya Moses and Hannah West. Joining Teknipp in the javelin will be Bre Kittles, Paige Berriochoa and Kennedy Davis.
