A talented newcomer to the Wolves' staff will mentor the running backs in 2018. Enrique Davis was appointed in June by head coach David Dean to mentor the UWG backfield this season.
Davis comes to UWG following a season on the staff at Division II Morehouse. He also has seven years of experience coaching at the high school level in both Georgia and Florida.
As a player, Davis had a standout career at the University of Mississippi. He was SEC Newcomer of the Year in 2008, and was a major contributor to the Rebels winning a pair of Cotton Bowl Championships.
Prior to his Ole Miss days, Davis prepped at both A. Crawford Mosley High, and later at prestigious Hargrave (Va.) Military Academy. He was a Parade Magazine All-American as a high school senior, and was chosen for the Offense-Defense All-America Bowl. Also, following his time at Hargrave, he was rated the number one postgraduate prospect in America by both scout.com and rivals.com.
A native of Lynn Haven, Fla., Davis holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Park & Recreational Management from the University of Mississippi. He remains very active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and other organizations, and was inducted into the Bay County (Fla.) Boys-and-Girls Club Hall of Fame.
When Coach Davis is not on the field or mentoring, he is spending time with his wife and children. He is married to Keia Davis and have five children; Omari, Elijah, Enrique Jr, Eniya and Emani.
