CALERA, Ala. – Senior Franziska Bremm highlighted the West Georgia Wolves opening round of the season as UWG shot a cumulative score of 303 at the Full Moon Invitational to open the 2018 fall campaign at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama.

 

Bremm shot a three-under round of 68 in her first round of her senior season. Bremm began with a pair of birdies, and finished the round with a total of five to go along with two bogeys. The senior from Colmberg, Germany has a two shot lead over second place.

 

Michelle Bagsic used two birdies to finish with a 76 in her first round as a UWG golfer. She began on the 14th hole and made a birdie on her first collegiate hole. She is in a sixth place tie individually after day one.

 

Layne Marie Carter’s opening round of 78 puts the junior in a 12th place tie with 18 holes to go. Carter made a total of three birdies on the day, including a deuce on the par three second hole.

 

The final score that counted on the day for the Wolves was an 81 from freshman Jasmine Yi. The Arlington Heights, Illinois native made one birdie on the day and sits in a 22nd place tie.

 

Ari Samuel finished with a 13-over 84 to open her collegiate career. She’ll begin tomorrow in a 32nd place tie. Stephania Vargas began her career playing as an individual and shot an opening round of 92.

 

The Wolves are in second place as a team and sit one shot back of North Georgia on the team leaderboard. The final round begins tomorrow at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama.
