CARROLLTON, Ga. - The West Georgia football program held steady in the weekly national rankings, released Tuesday, remaining in the third spot in the media's Division II Top-25.

The ranking will be the final national ranking of the 2018 regular season, as it all comes down to Saturday evening in Valdosta with a top-10 matchup between third-ranked West Georgia and sixth-ranked Valdosta State. The winner takes the Gulf South Conference championship, the Peach Basket, first place in the Super Region 2 rankings and home field advantage in the 2018 Division II playoffs. 

This Saturday's battle will mark the 39th meeting between the Wolves and the Blazers, and the first time in nearly 20 years where the Gulf South Conference championship has been on the line. West Georgia was ranked third this week in both the AFCA and polls, while Valdosta State moved to fifth in the AFCA and sixth in the poll. 

Fans can purchase tickets at the Bookstore during normal business hours. There are 100 general admission tickets and 100 student tickets available on a first come, first serve basis. The general admission tickets are $10 and the student tickets are $5. The ticket purchased is also a 20% off coupon for any Wolves gear purchased in the bookstore.

Additionally, there is a fan bus making the journey south. Alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and their families are welcome. The cost is $85 and includes a seat on the bus, a game ticket, and the Alumni Tailgate in Valdosta. For more information, use the included link above.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game is set for 7 p.m. from Bazemore-Hyder Stadium in Valdosta. Fans not attending can catch the game on ESPN3 or the WatchESPN app.
