CARROLLTON, Ga. - The women's running programs picked up two signees in the month of November, as head coach Ryan Bailey announced Friday the signing of Marion Bartilol and Devin Helms. 

Bartilol is a transfer to West Georgia from Iowa Central Community College and will join the program in the spring, competing this spring in distance events as a junior with Track & Field and next fall with the cross-country program. Helms comes to West Georgia after a stellar high school career at Harris County High School in Hamilton, Ga., and will join the Wolves next fall. 

"We are really excited about Marion coming for the spring, and she will help us in our bid for a Gulf South Conference championship in April," Bailey said. "She gives us the opportunity to score in both track and field as well as in cross-country next fall and will be a solid contributor to both programs."

In her time at Iowa Central, Bartilol had 21 top-10 distance finishes across three sports, competing in indoor and outdoor Track & Field and Cross-Country. She recently completed her sophomore season of cross-country at ICCC, finishing fourth nationally at the NJCAA nationals and also recently finished fourth in the NJCAA half-marathon championships.

She had a solid freshman indoor campaign with Iowa Central, finishing second in the 3000m, fourth in the 5000m, and was a part of the NJCAA Region XI championship distance medley relay (DMR) team. At the 2017 NJCAA Indoor Championships, she came in 14th in the 5000m. At the outdoor championships as a freshman, she won Region XI in the 5000m and the 10,000m, then finished seventh in the 5000m and sixth in the 10,000m at the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Nationals. 

As a sophomore at ICCC, she won the Region XI Indoor championship for the 3000m and distance medley relay, then took sixth (3000m) and fourth (5000m) at the NJCAA Indoor Nationals. At the outdoor championships this past spring, she finished second in Region XI in the 10,000m, then finished 11th in the 5000m and fifth in the 10,000m at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor Championships. 

"Devin has accomplished a lot in a short period of time as a runner," Bailey said. "I'm excited to have her as a part of our program and believe she will grow into an outstanding collegiate runner."

Helms had a stellar senior season at Harris County, finishing in the top-10 in every regular season 5000m run this fall She took first in two meets and third at the Region 1-AAAAA meet, then finished 15th at the GHSA State Championships.
