Last Time Out
The Wolves are coming off of a 1-4 weekend at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Clearwater, Florida with their lone win coming in an 8-0, five-inning victory. West Georgia scored just two runs in the other four games combined and lost to a pair of ranked teams in number two Southern Arkansas and 18th-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic. The Wolves are now 5-5 overall on the year.
Sophomore Alley Taylor picked right where she left off last season when she stole a school record 33 bases. So far in 2019, the Coral Springs, Florida native has five stolen bases to lead the Wolves and is tied for eighth in the Gulf South Conference in stolen bases. Taylor has accounted for 50 percent of UWG’s stolen bases this season and is the only player with more than one stolen base.
About the Opposition
The Bobcats of Georgia College enter Wednesday’s doubleheader with a 6-4 record and are coming off of a 4-2 weekend at the Charger Chillout in Huntsville, Alabama. The Bobcats final game raises some eyebrows as GC defeated the top-ranked team in all of Division II softball, Southern Indiana, by a 1-0 final. Ariel Edenfield is Georgia College’s leading hitter at .500 with one home run and 10 RBI.
