CARROLLTON, Ga. - Gulf South Conference play resumed for the West Georgia tennis program on Wednesday afternoon, marking nearly three weeks since the first GSC match against Christian Brothers. The Wolves fought hard in Montgomery, Alabama, but fell 7-0 to the Auburn-Montgomery Warhawks. 

AUM swept the doubles competition, with West Georgia's No. 2 doubles team of Shelby Brown and  Meg Cummings falling 6-3 in the closest doubles match of the afternoon. Freshmen Timia Commodore and Sofia Soltis lost 6-2 in No. 1 doubles and the No. 3 doubles team of Bailey McCammon and Jamie Bryant lost 6-0 as the Warhawks claimed the point for doubles play. 

In singles action, Soltis had the upper hand on AUM's Tonja Fossmeier, winning 6-4 in the opening set at No. 2 singles. Fossmeier came back in the second set with a 6-2 result, then won the tiebreak 10-6. McCammon also put up a battle at No. 5 singles, falling 6-3 in both sets.

The Wolves will be back in action on Friday afternoon at home for the first time this season, taking on the Lee Flames in another Gulf South Conference tilt.
