CLEVELAND, Tenn. – UWG Senior Franziska Bremm fired an opening round 76 in the NCAA South Regional on Monday, finishing four-over at Cleveland Country Club in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Playing in her fourth career Regional, Bremm got off to a rough start, with back-to-back bogeys on holes one and two, and after another bogey at the sixth moved to three-over. Bremm then made nine pars in a row, but bogeyed the 16th and finished with pars one the final two holes for the 76. That score puts Bremm in a 27th place tie heading into tomorrow.
After one round, Bremm is eight shots off of the lead currently held by Lucy Eaton of Florida Tech after her opening round 68. Florida Tech also leads the team competition with a one stroke advantage over Saint Leo.
For Bremm to advance to NCAA Nationals, she needs to be one of the top four individuals not advancing with their team at the Regional.
The second round is set for tomorrow from Cleveland, with the third and final round set for Wednesday.
