CARROLLTON, Ga. - On Wednesday, the Ping Division II All-American teams were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America, and UWG's Sam Jones was named as an honorbale mention selection, putting a cap on his career as one of the best to ever wear the red and blue for UWG.

Jones becomes the third men's golfer in UWG history to be named All-American, joining Barrett Waters in 2016 and Brandon Bennett in 2008.

The native of New Zealand led the Wolves this season, averaging 71.51 and made his third trip to the NCAA South/Southeast Regional back in May. Jones finished inside the top-five in five tournaments on the year and won two tournaments, including the individual title at the CBU Buccaneer Spring Classic after a round of 67 and then a school record 61.

Jones was a two-time All-Gulf South Conference selection in his career at West Georgia.
