CARROLLTON, Ga. - The University of West Georgia mourns the loss of a legend this week, regrettably announcing the news of the passing of UWG Hall of Fame basketball player Curtis Pass late last week.
Pass was a dominant player at West Georgia, becoming one of very few members of the UWG Athletic Hall of Fame after playing just one season in Carrollton.
Transferring to West Georgia from Division I Old Dominion, Pass was named Gulf South Conference East Division Player of the Year in 1998. That year, he averaged 23.5 points per game and became West Georgia’s first Division II basketball All-American.
Pass went on to play basketball overseas after graduating from West Georgia, then returned home to Reidsville, NC, eventually becoming the head basketball coach as well as cross country and track coach at Reidsville Senior High School.
