CARROLLTON, Ga. – A trio of UWG women’s golfers were honored today as WGCA All-American Scholars as Michelle Bagsic, Franziska Bremm, and Layne Marie Carter were all named one of 1,097 women’s golfers across all NCAA Divisions to be named All-American Scholars.

The success on and off the course for Franziska Bremm has been well recorded, and it’s no surprise that she has been named an All-American Scholar for the fourth time in her career.

Bagsic, a speech pathology major, just completed her freshman season playing in 17 total rounds and averaging 83.82.

Now a three-time WGCA All-American Scholar, Carter just completed her junior season in Carrollton. The biology major competed in all eight tournaments last season, averaging 80.95 in 20 rounds.

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 and play in at least 50 percent of the team's events.
