CARROLLTON, Ga. - The 14-game home basketball schedule is set to begin officially on November 8, and with a month to go until the season begins, fans may purchase season tickets for the 2019-20 season. The first ticketed event of the year will take place on December 17, when the Wolves host Montevallo at The Coliseum.
Head coach Dave Moore and his Wolves went 17-12 in his first season at the helm of the program last year, finishing sixth with a 12-8 record and reaching the Gulf South Conference tournament for the first time since the 2017 season. This year, the Wolves will be led by sophomore Michael Zabetakis and senior Karlos Odum. Zabetakis averaged 8.3 points per game a year ago as a true freshman, and with junior sharp-shooter Greg James in the backcourt with him, the Wolves will be formidable from distance. Odum will take care of things underneath, and will be called on to carry the frontcourt in 2019-20.
Head coach Scott Groninger and his squad are on the hunt for a 10th consecutive trip to the Gulf South Conference tournament, following up on a trip to the GSC Semifinals in the 2018-19 season. Leading the way for the 2019-20 Wolves is senior Edley Drawhorn, who is the leading returning scorer with 7.6 points per game as a junior last year.
The opener for men's basketball comes on November 8-9, when West Georgia will host the GSC/SSC Crossover against Embry-Riddle on November 8 at 7:30 p.m. and against Palm Beach Atlantic on November 9 at 6:00 p.m. The women's team will open at home on November 19
