CARROLLTON, Ga. - Carrington Terrell and Tierra White each had 13 kills and Senior setter Madi Fleming added 42 assists as the West Georgia Wolves took down West Alabama on the road Friday night in Livingston, Ala. 

The win moves the Wolves to 10-7 on the year and 5-1 in Gulf South Conference play. West Georgia plays on Saturday at 4 pm at Mississippi College.

First Set - UWG 25, UWA 17

The Wolves came out firing on all cylinders early in this one, taking an early 9-4 lead. On the back of three early kills from freshman Tierra White, the Wolves extended the advantage to 17-11 before UWA mounted a comeback. The Tigers pulled to within three at 19-16, but West Georgia pushes it back out to four points at 21-17. The Wolves then scored the final four points of the set, winning 25-17. 

Second Set - UWG 25, UWA 20

The Tigers and Wolves played tighter in the second set, as West Georgia led early 7-4, then extended the lead to 13-9 later in the set. With White delivering on four kills in the first 16 points, the Wolves reeled off three consecutive, taking a 16-9 lead. Both teams had a run over the final half of the match and Carrington Terrell ended the set with a kill from Madi Fleming to take a 2-0 lead in the match. 

Third Set - UWA 25, UWG 20

West Alabama came out with a 5-3 lead early in the third set followed by two consecutive points from the Wolves to tie things up at 5-5. The Tigers went on a 9-2 run, leading 14-7 at the midway point of the set. West Georgia went on a 7-1 run to cut the UWA lead to one, but West Alabama ran off four straight points for a 19-14 lead. The Tigers kept the lead there for the final six points to take a 25-20 victory.

Fourth Set - UWG 25, UWA 21

West Georgia shook off the third set loss and came out firing on all cylinders, taking a quick 10-5 lead. The Wolves kept pushing and Kaylyn Buchanan’s ace at 16-9 forced a UWA timeout. West Alabama made a furious run, but a Carrington Terrell kill on the final point gave the Wolves a 25-21 victory.
