CARROLLTON, Ga. - Head coach Jon Moseley and the UWG volleyball program will enter the annual Gulf South/Sunshine State Crossover with the highest seed for a West Georgia team in the history of the event after a 4-1 start in Gulf South Conference play.

The Wolves swept this past weekend, going 2-0 on the road against West Alabama and Mississippi College to move to 11-7 overall on the year and 6-1 against GSC competition. West Georgia enters the event tied for second in the league standings.

With a higher seed comes a higher level of opponent at the Crossover, as the Wolves will take on the top team in the Sunshine State standings, national power Tampa, in the first game on Friday. The Wolves and the Spartans will play from the Finley Center in Hoover, Ala. at 5:45 p.m. for the only game for West Georgia on Friday.

Saturday will be a late start in the day for the Wolves, as UWG will take on Eckerd at 2:30 p.m., followed by a match in the 2019 Crossover finale at 8:00 p.m. against the Lynn Fighting Knights. Lynn is currently third in the Sunshine State Conference standings and Eckerd was sixth in the league standings.
