Carrollton, GA – West Georgia Wolves baseball star Cade Marlowe has added to his growing list of postseason honors. Marlowe was named Wednesday as an Honorable Mention member of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers (NCBWA) Association Division II All-America Team.
Marlowe has earlier this spring been named All-Gulf South Conference First Team for a second consecutive year. He has also earned First Team All-Region status from the NCBWA, The Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA), and The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA).
The latter two organizations are set to announce their Division II All-America Teams later this week.
Marlowe’s all-region honor from the coaches association was also announced Wednesday, as he was named an All-South Region First Team choice by the coaches association. UWG teammate Logan Taylor was a second team all-region selection. This the same status the duo received from both the D2CCA and NCBWA.
Marlowe completed a record setting career at UWG in 2019. He set all-time school records for at bats (623), runs scored (167), stolen bases (87), and tied the West Georgia record for games played with 184. Also, Marlowe’s 245 career base hits ranks second all-time in the UWG record book.
Beyond the recognition for his on-field excellence, Marlowe was named Tuesday to the Gulf South Conference Top Ten for the 2018-19 Academic Year. He is one-of-five male student-athletes from the league with a chance to be named the winner of the GSC Commissioner’s Trophy. The recipient of that honor will be announced Thursday evening at the GSC Spring Meetings in Pensacola Beach, Fla.
