CALERA, Ala. – One tournament into the 2019 fall season and the UWG men’s golf team has one win under their belt after a final round 281 gave the Wolves a 10-stroke victory at the Full Moon Invitational at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama.

 

West Georgia was outstanding on day two with all four counting scores coming in at 71 or better including a trio of 70s from Adam Park, Reece Moore, and Lucas Mota. For Moore, the 70 gave him a share of the lead after 36 holes.

 

The sophomore then calmly went out and birdied the par four 18th in a sudden death playoff, besting John Karcher of Spring Hill for his first career individual win.

 

Mota ended up third with a three-under 36-hole total.  Adam Park, a junior newcomer, finished in 17th place.

 

Jonathon Toftebrant finishe din a 15th place tie after a 71 in the second round. After yesterday’s 73, sophomore Blake Kollin shot 77 on Tuesday to finish in a 19th place tie.

 

West Georgia’s next action is set for September 15-17 at the Kiawah Island Invitational.
