CARROLLTON, Ga. - The West Georgia tennis program lost for the second-straight day this weekend on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Mississippi College Choctaws by a 9-0 score in Clinton, Miss.

The top three flights for head coach Michael Coleman's squad on Sunday each took two games in the first set of their individual matches, but then fell by a 6-0 score in the second set. Coleman switched things up at the top, moving Sara Watson to the No. 1 flight, where she played for her first two seasons at UWG. Freshman Brooke Kane remained in the No. 2 spot while Jordan England played in the No. 3 role on Sunday. 

Shelby Brown in the No. 5 flight put up the biggest fight in the match, falling 6-4 in the first set and 6-2 in the second. Gabby Chanthaphaeng and Meg Cummings each lost in the No. 4 and No. 6 flights. 

In doubles play, Chanthaphaeng and Cummings lost 8-3 in the No. 3 flight, while the team of Watson and Brown lost 8-1 in No. doubles. In No. 1 doubles, England and Kane fell, also by an 8-1 score. 

West Georgia will be back in action on Tuesday, taking on the Lee University Flames, taking on their third Gulf South Conference foe in the first four matches of the 2018 season.
