CARROLLTON, Ga. – The UWG women’s cross country team is back in action this weekend, competing in the JSU Foothills Invitational in Oxford, Ala. on Saturday morning.

The Wolves will be up against a large field with a big mix of schools including Division I runners as well as competition from GSC foes Montevallo, Shorter, and Valdosta State.

Head coach Ryan Bailey says the girls squad has been rapidly improving all season long, and will look for more of the same from freshman Mackenzie Morse as she has led the team each race this season. The Wolves will also get Bailey Roberts back this week after she has struggled with some injuries, giving the Wolves more depth in the lineup.

With the large field, Bailey thinks his squad will step up to the occasion as it typically does running against a large pool of competition. The first year head coach is expecting season and personal bests from his squad tomorrow.

The women’s 5k race will get underway at 10:30 a.m. EST from Oxford Lakes Rec Center in Oxford, Ala.
