Carrollton, GA - With conference play completed, the West Georgia Wolves tennis program turned their attention Saturday to the final three non-conference matches of the 2017 season, beginning with a 9-0 victory at Oxford-Emory University in Oxford, Ga.

The Wolves lost but one set on the afternoon, with No. 5 starter Jamie Bryant falling 6-2 in her first set, but then rebounding with a 6-4 win in the second followed by a 10-6 victory to close it out. Bryant has been the Wolves' regular No. 6 starter, but with an injury to Shelby Brown, moved into the No. 5 role for Saturday's match. Meg Cummings, who has played just six singles matches this season, took the No. 6 spot, winning 6-2, 6-1. That pair played No. 3 doubles on the afternoon as well, winning handily with an 8-2 result.

Jordan England and Gabby Chanthaphaeng moved to 4-11 on the year in No. 1 doubles play with an 8-5 victory in Oxford on the afternoon. England also won in a tough match at No. 1 singles, taking the match 6-4, 6-4. Chanthaphaeng won the No. 2 singles flight with a 6-0, 6-2 result.

Sierra Brown extended her lead in the career numbers by winning No. 4 singles by a 6-3, 6-2 score. That gives her 23 career singles victories, and her 8-3 No. 2 doubles victory with Sara Watson was the 25th of her career, also a school record. Watson took the No. 3 singles match, winning 6-3, 6-1 for the Wolves.

West Georgia moves to 5-11 on the year and will play at Central Alabama Community College on Tuesday, followed by a road trip to Emmanuel on Friday to close out the season.
