Fite Adds to 2018 Recruiting Class

CARROLLTON, Ga. – The UWG Baseball program announced the signing of three players to the 2018 recruiting class during this week’s early signing period as head coach Skip Fite has added three junior college transfers.


All three players come from Gordon State College, with two of them being former Georgia high school standouts. One of the players, Cory Bartholomew, originally signed with Division I USC-Upstate before transferring to Gordon State for his sophomore season.

Played in 31 games as a freshman at Gordon State … hit .250 hit 20 hits including three doubles, and a pair of home runs … drove in eight runs on the season while scoring 24 … had a .368 on-base percentage … stole two bases … Prepped at Central High in Phenix City, AL … played in 25 games as a senior, hitting .286 with 14 RBI, a double and a home run … was named an AHSAA All-Star in 2015, representing the South team … also played basketball in high school.

Originally signed with USC-Upstate out of high school, and played for the Spartans as a freshman … made 13 appearances on the season, making one start … had a 1-1 record and totaled 14.2 innings pitched on the year … struck out 13 batters, giving him a 7.98 K/9 average … allowed 12 earned runs … batters had a .254 average against him … Attended Tattnall Square Academy where he was a four-year letterwinner in baseball and a member of multiple state championship teams…Won over 30 games on the mound...Earned All-Region and All-State honors.

Taylor Boisclair

Started nine games, and appeared in 15 total for Gordon State as a freshman in 2017 … went 6-4 on the season with one save … pitched a total of 58.2 innings, including one complete game shutout … struck out 47 batters, averaging 7.21 per game … gave up 26 earned runs for a 3.99 ERA … held batters to a .228 batting average … prepped at Banks County High School … was named to the FCA East-West All-Star game as a senior.
