CARROLLTON, Ga. - Three games remain on the regular season schedule for the 2017-18 West Georgia basketball squad, and the Wolves will close out the home schedule for this season on Wednesday evening, hosting GSC opponent Shorter at approximately 7:30 p.m. at The Coliseum.

The Records
West Georgia comes into the final home game of the season with an 11-13 overall record this year and a 6-11 mark against Gulf South Conference competition. The Wolves are coming off of an 85-71 loss to 17th-ranked West Florida this past Saturday, and this week is where the rubber meets the road. The Wolves still have a shot to make the 2018 postseason, but either a West Georgia loss or a win from North Alabama and Lee will eliminate the Wolves from postseason contention. Shorter comes into the game with a 3-14 record against conference competition and a 3-22 mark overall on the year.

Wolves in the GSC (Team)
West Georgia is the second-leading scoring team in the Gulf South Conference this year, averaging 84.9 points per game, but defense has been a struggle, as the Wolves allow 86.7 points per game on the season.

Wolves in the GSC (Ind.)
Junior Marquill Smith is second in the league in scoring this season, averaging 22.1 points per game on the year. The Florida native has scored at least 30 points in two of the last three games and surpassed the 500 point mark during Saturday's game against West Florida. He also had his seventh double-double of the year, scoring 30 and pulling down 14 rebounds. He is sixth in the league in rebounding, averaging 8.3 boards per game. Junior guard Aren Ulmer is third in the league in assists, averaging 5.0 assists per game on the year. He has had double-digit assists three times, including a whopping 15 dimes against Mississippi College.
