CARROLLTON, Ga. - It's Nationals week for the UWG Cheerleading Program, as head coach Nicole Nichols and her squads head to UCA Nationals in Orlando, Fla. this weekend. Wednesday closed out the home schedule for the Wolves with the annual Family & Friends Night for UWG Cheer, giving West Georgia's cheer programs an opportunity to showcase this year's routine for fans, family, alumni, and friends of the program.

Nichols, her staff, and the UWG cheerleaders have been working nearly non-stop in preparation for this year's event, as the Wolves look to add championship hardware to the 22-trophy collection currently residing with the University of West Georgia. UWG has won 22 championships since the 2001 season, and the Coed squad has won the last five years consecutively. The All-Girl squad finished second to Morehead State last year in the Division I competition.

This year's competition kicks off on Friday, but the Wolves will be in action on Saturday afternoon at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The Coed squad is scheduled to compete in the semifinals at 11:56 a.m. in the Northwest Pavilion Arena North. The finals for Division II Coed will be at 6:15 p.m.

The All-Girl squad will have their first semifinal competition at 12:20 p.m. in the Northwest Pavilion Arena South. The Wolves will then compete in the finals at 4:40 p.m.

All competition performances can be viewed live via pay-per-view through varsity.com.
