CARROLLTON, Ga. – Now that the spring semester is off and running, the University of West Georgia women’s golf team is set to ramp back up for the second half of their season as they head to St. Augustine, Florida for the World Golf Invitational at the Slammer and the Squire.
West Georgia is set to compete against a strong field on the 6,049 yard, par 72 course at the famous World Golf Hall of Fame. The Wolves will play 36 holes total with the first round set for Sunday and the final round on Monday.
Six ranked teams will be in the field this week, headlined by second-ranked Nova Southeastern. Saint Leo, who is ranked fourth and Lynn, who comes in at sixth are also in the field. Tampa (11), Cal State Monterey Bay (21) and host Flagler (24) round out the ranked teams in the field.
West Georgia will be joined by Shorter and West Florida to make three Gulf South Conference teams in the field.
Franziska Bremm will anchor head coach Todd Selders’ lineup this week, as the two-time Gulf South Conference Player of the Year looks to start the spring off with a bang.
Maria Torres, Jordan Daniel, and Layne Carter will round out the Wolves lineup in their first tournament of the spring, as the Wolves will be playing with just four players in the lineup.
