CARROLLTON, Ga. – For the second consecutive year, a pair of UWG women’s golfers have been honored by the Gulf South Conference as Franziska Bremm and Maria Torres were both named First Team All-GSC on Friday.

It’s the third First Team selection for Franziska Bremm who is a two-time GSC Player of the Year. The junior from Colmberg, Germany becomes the second player in UWG women’s golf history to be named First Team All-GSC, joining Sarah Ross who was a three-time selection from 2009-2011.

This season, Bremm led the Wolves with a 75.65 scoring average, and had five top-10 finishes with four of those being in the top-five. Bremm had one win, finishing first at the UWG Women’s Invitational by one stroke, and capped off her junior season with an All-Tournament selection and a fifth place finish earlier this week at the 2018 Gulf South Conference Championships at Callaway Gardens.

For Torres, it’s her third All-GSC selection, but just her second time in four seasons being on the First Team. The senior was selected first team in 2015, and made second team a season ago. This year, Torres had a scoring average of 76.95, and had one top-five finish and three top-10 finishes.

Bremm and Torres are awaiting the selection of the NCAA Regionals to see if their season will continue. The Wolves will find out their fate on Monday, April 30.
