CARROLLTON, Ga.  – IT’s been over a week since the UWG women’s golf team’s last tournament, and tomorrow, the Wolves are back on the links in the Battle at Old South in Bluffton, South Carolina.

The Wolves have five familiar faces in the lineup this week, as head coach Todd Selders will use the same five he used in a fourth place finish at Montevallo to open the season. Sophomore Ari Samuel will occupy the top spot in the lineup, followed by Maddy Schultz, Layne Marie Carter, Michelle Bagsic, and Katherine Densmore.

Samuel had the best finish at the Full Moon Invitational, placing in a tie for seventh with a 151 total. Fellow returners Michelle Bagsic and Layne MArieCarter notched top-25 finishes, placing 19th and 22nd respectively.

For Densmore and Schultz, this weekend will be their second collegiate tournament after Schultz placed 24th at the Full Moon Invitational and Densmore finished in 27th.

This tournament is not new for the Wolves as they have played for the last few years. In last season’s event, the Wolves finished 12th as a team. Samuel, Carter, and Bagsic all competed in the tournament in 2018 with Samuel placing the best out of the trio, taking 58th.

The Wolves will play their first round on Saturday and their final round on Sunday at the Old South Golf Links in Bluffton just outside of Hilton Head.
