DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The UWG women’s golf team struggled on the final day of the LeeAnn Noble Memorial, shooting a 324 and finishing in ninth place at Achasta Golf Club in Dahlonega.
The Wolves were led once again by Maddy Schultz, but the freshman fell down the leaderboard after a final round 78, finishing in a 16th place tie.
Michelle Bagsic had the next lowest score at 81, but Ari Samuel’s final round 82 gave her a 158 total and a tie for 39th place. Bagsic was two shots behind her with a 160, good for a tie for 45th.
Both Katherine Densmore and Layne Marie Carter shot 83 on Tuesday. Densmore finished in a 52nd place tie while Carter wraps up the event in 62nd.
Columbus State shot an impressive round of 281 as a team to claim the team title. Megan Sabol of North Georgia, the tournament host, finished first individually shooting rounds of 69 and 66 on her home course.
The Wolves’ next tournament is set for October 28-29 at the Jekyll Island Golf Club as the women’s squad competes in the Jekyll-O-Lantern Intercollegiate.
