COLUMBUS, Ga. – The weather was nasty, but the final round of the Lady Cougar Classic went on with UWG struggling in the wet conditions with a final round 335 to finish in fourth place at the Country Club of Columbus.


Scores were up across the board, but two Wolves still managed to notch top-10 finishes. South Carolina Beaufort shot a final round 323 to claim the team title.


Junior Franziska Bremm, who began the day in second place, shot the highest round of her career with an 85, but still finished in fifth with a 239 total.


It was a final round 85 for Maria Torres as well as she finished in the top-10 with a 243 total. Jordan Daniel shot 84 in her final round, finishing in a 17th place tie with a 54-hole total of 249.


Layne Carter shot the lowest round of the day for West Georgia as the sophomore fired 81, but finished in 19th place with a total of 250.


Young Harris took second place while North Georgia finished in third. UWG finished in fourth and seven shots ahead of host Columbus State.


UWG’s next tournament is their annual home tournament, the UWG Women’s Invitational. The event is set for March 26-27 at Sunset Hills Country Club in Carrollton, Georgia.
